Fried Chicken Breast

Introduction: I am not a fan of fast foods but from time to time I just crave fried food. Today I cooked the best chicken in Texas. Here is how:

  • 1 lb of chicken breast
  • 1½ cup of flour
  • ½ cup of corn starch
  • ½ tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of cumin
  • three egg whites, lightly beaten
  • frying oil
  1. Cut the chicken in stripes of two inches long and ½ inch thick
  2. In a large bowl mix the flour, corn starch, baking soda, granulated garlic, cayenne pepper, cumin, and mix well
  3. In a Dutch oven put a quantity of frying oil to cover 2-3 inches of the oven walls and heat on medium until hot
  4. Soak the chicken stripes into the egg whites then roll then into the flour mixture to coat the chicken evenly
  5. Place the chicken into the hot oil and cook turning them until golden
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and place on a plate covered with a paper towel
  7. Serve hot with ranch sauce and favorite vegetables
