Introduction: Often served as a side dish on Thanksgiving, sweet potatoes are representative for the American traditional cooking. I cook this casserole next to Thanksgiving turkey but it also goes very well with steaks.
Ingredients
2 lb of sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
½ cup of brown sugar
1 stick of butter
1 can of pineapple rings
½ cup of walnuts or pecans
few maraschino cherries for decoration
Instructions
In a medium pan boil the potatoes until fork tender, drain.
Put the potatoes in a casserole dish, add the sugar and the butter, mash it up with a potato masher. With the back of a table spoon even the composition out.
On the top put the pineapple rings, walnuts and cherries
Bake for 20 minutes at 375F. Enjoy!
