Introduction: Often served as a side dish on Thanksgiving, sweet potatoes are representative for the American traditional cooking. I cook this casserole next to Thanksgiving turkey but it also goes very well with steaks.
Ingredients
  • 2 lb of sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 can of pineapple rings
  • ½ cup of walnuts or pecans
  • few maraschino cherries for decoration
Instructions
  1. In a medium pan boil the potatoes until fork tender, drain.
  2. Put the potatoes in a casserole dish, add the sugar and the butter, mash it up with a potato masher. With the back of a table spoon even the composition out.
  3. On the top put the pineapple rings, walnuts and cherries
  4. Bake for 20 minutes at 375F. Enjoy!
