Introduction: This is the dessert of my childhood, very popular back then. It is very easy to make and requires no baking. Its perfect next to the morning coffee.

Ingredients
  • 1 pack of crackers ( 12 oz)
  • 1 cup of raisins
  • 1 cup of walnuts or pecans
  • 1½ cup of milk
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 1 baking chocolate bar
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup of coconut flakes
Instructions
  1. Place the crackers in a large bowl, break them up in random pieces
  2. Soak the raisins in water (you can use whiskey if the desert will not be served to children)
  3. Add the walnuts (pecans) and the raisins to the crackers
  4. On low heat, in a small pot place the milk and sugar
  5. Add butter and chocolate broken in pieces
  6. Stir continually until the butter and the chocolate are melted and the mixture comes to a boil
  7. Take it off heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes, do not let it cool completely as it will solidify
  8. Pour the chocolate liquid mixture over the cracker mixture and mix until the crackers absorbed all of the liquid
  9. Take a rectangular piece of plastic wrap and lay it on the counter. Place the cracker mixture on top of it, even it out on the entire wrap surface
  10. Roll the mixture with the wrap and tighten it to the ends
  11. Place the roll in the fridge to cool for at least three hours, better overnight
  12. Remove from the fridge, place on a cutting board, remove the foil
  13. Place the coconut flakes on a flat surface, roll the cracker salami in it such as its surface remains covered in flakes. Press the flakes with your fingers on the roll so will they evenly adhere to it.
  14. Place the salami on the cutting board and slice in ½ inch pieces, arrange on a serving plate. Enjoy!
